WHAT IS GROUP BUSINESS COACHING?
Group coaching is having a circle of like-minded business people from different industries or, depending on the group, the same sectors to spark new ideas and invoke a sense of community.
WHY SHOULD BUSINESS OWNERS CONSIDER GROUP COACHING?
Living in a world of isolation as a business owner is not conducive to building new ideas. As a business grows and time passes, you, the owner, must adapt. Running a business today differs from running a business in 1974, and it's essential to understand this. If you are an owner feeling like time is passing you by, you are not "hanging" with the times. Group coaching could be an excellent area to gather new ideas and get a sense of where your industry is heading so you will make the proper adjustments.

Group coaching allows you to meet others with similar experiences and understand the trials and tribulations. Also, it will enable you to spread ideas with others and gain a new perspective in your industry you otherwise may have lost before.
IS GROUP BUSINESS COACHING EFFECTIVE?
Like anything in life, you get what you put in. If you walk into group coaching with an open mind and understanding this is not a referendum on your leadership but an opportunity to grow as an owner, then it will be effective. But if you come in close-minded, unable to process how there may be a different way of approaching things, or unwilling to be a part of a community, then it may be an experience which does not provide much value for you.
HOW DOES A GROUP BUSINESS COACHING PROGRAM WORK?
A group coaching program will be conducted in person or through apps like slack or zoom calls. Whichever version you decide you join, they all will have a coach who will be the principal conductor of the program. They ask questions and allow each individual an appropriate amount of time to answer them without interruptions. These questions will hopefully spur further discussion among the group members, in which you will share ideas and create new contacts. The questions will revolve around business topics, personal life topics, etc. it's an effort to start a conversation and touch upon issues the most interesting to the people in the business community.
These programs sometimes last for several weeks or months, or if you hit it off with the other members, it could get taken outside the program, and you conduct your calls with the members on your own time. If you are in a big group, the coach may decide to conduct individual training sessions or small group sessions to make sure everyone is getting the appropriate information and help they desire. By the end of the program, you should witness a moment of a growth mindset. You will now enter your business with a new perspective or renewed confidence.
